Now that I am using Xwindows, I attempted to install the >xemacs* packages. dpkg complained that Xemacs conflicts with emacs. >When I tried to remove emacs, it complained that auctex, W3-el, etc >require emacs. How does one remove emacs and, are there any packages >which require emacs which wouldn't work under Xemacs? To remove emacs, highlight it in dselect. Then press the - (minus) or _ (underscore) key. Then resolve the dependancy problem by removing those files too (if they're not needed). Press enter. Choose remove from the main menu.
