To echo what Joost said, there are no problems with installing libc6. It will coexist just fine with libc5 (just like libc5 coexists with libc4). If you want to *compile* programs with libc6, the procedure is still a bit messy right now. But if you stay away (for now) from the -dev stuff with libc6 in unstable, you should be just fine. So go ahead and install libc6. Christian
