I am trying to help my friend install debian. He is getting the following
error when dselect tries to mount his cdrom:

mount: /dev/hdd has wrong major or minor number
unable to mount /dev/hdd on /var/lib/dpkg/methods/mnt
       type iso9660

Anyone know what major/minor number mean?
By the way, his cdrom is recognized by the kernel on boot.

Thanks.
