Hi all, Given the discussion of moving directories and such, I'd like to suggest a quick visit for any and all to
www.pathname.com/fhs It's the Linux Filesystem Hierarchy Standard, and although it's most appropriate for developers, a lot of us can learn some neat stuff about the history and growth of Linux and today's technical stuff too. I learned a lot about where to find things, and even was able to trim down my path significantly from the way it was set on our school's DEC boxes. BTW, the coordinator of the FHS project, Dan Quinlan, is the person who steered me towards Debian from Slackware. Haven't looked back since! --Pete _______________________________________________________________ Peter J.
