Without having my linux box on at the moment, this might not be exactly correct but:
cd /etc ls rc*/S*samba Should show you something like: rcS.d/S33samba The directory might not be rcS.d and the number probably isn't 33. Those are guesses. Remove that softlink and it should no longer autostart.
