hi,

cron crashes my computer every day (usually at 6:26 AM when the cron.daily
scripts are run). i tried 'run-parts --verbose /etc/cron.daily' (instead of the
default 'run-parts --report /etc/cron.daily') and found out that the machine
crashes during the execution of /etc/cron.daily/standard. i'm running woody
(kernel 2.4.19 with the reiserfs quota patches applied) on a dual Pentium SMP
machine, got /etc/cron.daily/standard from cron_3.0pl1-72_i386.deb and never
modified it. i can't figure ou what part of the cron.daily/standard script
causes the crash. it just crashes with no error/waring/message and all i can do
is hit the reset button. sometimes though some strange things happen to
/var/log/syslog at the time of the crash (i copied this from 'mcview
/var/log/syslog' after the crash i caused by running 'run-parts --verbose
/etc/cron.daily' this morning):
