I have been trying to play a DVD on my Debian sarge
machine for a couple of days now.
The PC is a Pentium3 with 312M RAM and an
all-in-wonder 128 AGP card
I have libdvdcss2 libdvdnav4 libdvdplay0 libdvdread3
installed by adding "deb
http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib"
to my sources.list
I have KDE and kaffeine okle and ogle
kaffeine will play a divx movie perfectly, but okle
and ogle won't
kaffeine will play a dvd, but i can't see the menu
if i guess on a menu and click then the dvd plays but
i get a black window although i can hear the sound
i get these complaints from kaffeine

i have also installed the gatos driver over the
usr/X11R6/ folder, which maybe was a mistake given
that divx was playing okay... anyway i backed up
X11R6/ before so i could remove it
DVD is region 2 and I set xine to region 2 (can't
remember how, from a gui it was...) my drive is RPC-1
