And what does "svstat /service/dnscache" report? Does "ps ax | grep readproctitle" still show the same output? And is there anything in /service/dnscache/log/main/current? (You might cat it and pipe it through tai64nlocal to see when the last item was added to the logfile.) Also, what is the output from "ls /service"?
