I can't point to an article, but I can tell you that once the signal becomes Ethernet, it doesn't matter much whether it's Comcast or RoadRunner or DSL or a T1 on the other side. Do you have the Debian networking set to get its info from a DHCP server? Why do you think it's wrong? Apart from "It doesn't work." :-) How are you with the command line interface?
