When posting a question like this, it's really a good idea to leave some context in the post. If I hadn't remembered Paul's reply, I would have absolutely no clue, none whatsoever, what you're talking about here. This mailing list is way too busy for people to remember every detail of every thread. A better posting would look something like the following: >> Paul Johnson wrote: >> >> hja wrote: >> >>> How can I post an image to an IRC conversation, since IM doesn't >>> allow this? >> >> Just post the image to the web. > >This had been mentioned to me before. Excuse my ignorance, I don't what >that means. Which website? Is there a website that anybody can post >anything to? > Also, generally you should only reply to this list, not to the list and to the person who wrote the post to which you're responding; they already read the list and don't need two copies of your message. Okay, now that I've dealt with that . . . . What Paul (I think it was Paul; I'm going on memory) means is that you can post the image on your own personal web site, and then post a link to that website in IRC or in IM. Many ISPs provide 10MB or so of web space as part of their package (of course, many don't). If you don't have your own web site, you can ask a friend who has one to post the image for you. Or you can sign up with one of many services on the web that offers web hosting; I believe there are even some free posting sites (well, free, if you don't count the advertisements and them selling your contact info, etc). -- Kent West Technology Support /A/bilene /C/hristian /U/niversity -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
