You can't see any files because you haven't created > or copied anything to the gmailfs.
But mount command doesn't show the gmailfs mounted, and copying a file to that mounted dir doesn't take time at all, as if it was copied to a dir on the local hoard disk. How to check if gmailfs is really working? Deboo -- Please don't Cc: me, I'm subscribed to the list.
