Follow the instructions from this site: http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/asoundrc.php?company=Generic&card=Generic&chip=Generic&module=Generic and restart alsa. Make sure you have oss emulation working. Then alsa will be able to play sound from different sources (this is presuming your soundcard doesn't already support different channels. If it had, you wouldn't see this problem in the first place). -- John L.
