popa3d auth problem

Hi There, I have a mailbox size problem with popa3d. Using debian woody 
with popa3d for our pop server. I have a user 'user1' that has 
complained of a invalid password... on checking the /var/log/syslog, i 
found this:

Jan  5 14:40:01 intranet popa3d[9246]: Authentication passed for user1
Jan  5 14:40:01 intranet popa3d[9246]: Failed or refused to load 
/var/mail/user1

Checking the /var/log/user1 file:
-rw-rw---- 1 user1 mail 117764939 Jan 5 14:02 user1
The user has a rather large mailbox. This is internal mail only and 
there is no mailbox size limit, its just the build up over the xmas break.

I have found some reference to mailboxes larger that 100MB... Is this a 
limit within the popa3d service? Is there a setting to 'up' the size of 
a mailbox or something?
