Dear Sam: Thank you for your advice. Basically, I am spelunking my way around debian and trying out sid seemed interesting for a while on one of my spare computers. I can always just start over, thats not a problem, but this is an interesting puzzle. Here is my new sources.list which contains four lines at this time. deb file:/var/cache/apt-build/repository apt-build main deb ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free deb-src http://http.us.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free deb http://ftp.au.debian.org/pub/java-linux/debian unstable non-free When I then do an 'apt-get install java-common', I get back to the same installer message demanding the ibm-jdk-l118-linux-x86.tgz file. I wonder if this could be a sid issue and I wonder if you or someone else could comment further? Charles -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
