I think many answeres was already given with a bit complicated and serious methods. Alvin's web site has many idea so does my doc: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/reference/ch-tips.en.html#s-diff-backup But I have easier dummer idea these days. 1. install Debian and configure GNOME systyem from task menu 2. Open file manager 3. Click Go -> CD creator 4. Copy folders (/home /etc /var/lib/dpkg /var/backup) by mouse to CD creator 5. Burn CD > Any ideas ? Darn this does not look like Unix back up but it works. Use CD-RW if you do not want to have too many coasters.
