Since I am still stumped on the TV Tuner problem that I posted about
earlier, I decided to start working on getting the printer up and
running. I really thought that this would be a fairly easy one too,
since it's just a simple old parallel port HP OfficeJet, which worked
beautifully with CUPs back when I was running Mepis.
So anyway, I have a CUPS server running, the printer connected to the
parallel port (/dev/lp0), of course, and the print driver set to hpijs.
When I do a test page (this is from the KDE Control Panel), a message
pops up saying that the page was successfully sent to the printer. But,
that is obviously false, as the printer does nothing at all. Is there
anything else I need to install or configure to get this thing to work?
