Installed the 2.4.26 kernel several weeks ago, and I like it a lot. But "BONDING" was accidentally turned on when compiling a module for my second Ethernet card. I have 2 nic cards - one connects to Verizon DSL and the other connects to my home LAN. The network went down on the first reboot after the compile. A mysterious third Ethernet driver labeled bond.o appeared, enslaved my 2 nic cards and was trying to "LOAD BALANCE" my home LAN and DSL connection. Now neither works, but the 2 nic cards are properly installed - sort of like "the operation was a success but the patient died." I read the Bonding.Txt at /usr/src/linux and the Bonding How To which has a lot about bringing bonding up, but nothing about how to turn it off. Anybody out there know how to disable bonding? I would like my DSL back.
