thos problems used to occur in the days of the 2.2 kernels
with the intel e100 nic drivers when it was loaded as a module
- compiling it into the kernel solved the problem
- the problem ..
- when the kernel boots, it will/might swap out stuff,
and if it swapped out the wrong stuff ( nic drivers ),
it couldn't recover in the old dayz
