Hi, I'm having trouble looking up a certain domain (not hostsed by my dns server) and I'm not sure if it is a problem with my server or the dns server who is authoritative for this domain.
Let me explain:
www.sydneyanglicans.net is the host I am after.
Here's is a series of dig commands and their output that illustrate what
I can and can't do (see below for the oputput from each one):
$ dig www.sydneyanglicans.net
$ dig net
$ dig sydneyanglicans.net @a.gtld-servers.net
$ dig www.sydneyanglicans.net @ns01.glebeaust.com.au
$ dig fa0-fw01-sds.glebeaust.com.au
$ dig 66-sds.glebeaust.com.au
The only one of these quieries to fail is the first one. And it was
working fine up until a couple of days ago. The default nameserver is
bind9 running on woody. It is a caching server, but doesn't forward
first. FWIW, my isp nameserver will not look up this address either.
So is this a problem with my server or the remote server?
Is there any way to get more info than just SERVFAIL?
