As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm using the current unstable version of mplayer-k6 from ftp.nerim.net and all the relevant packages.
When I try to play Car Talk with mplayer, it caches but then dies with this error: Clip info: name: Car Talk 0445-Segment 1 author: Car Talk copyright: (C) 2004 Dewey Cheetham and Howe ========================================================================== Trying to force audio codec driver family libmad... Cannot find codec for audio format 0x6B6F6F63. Read DOCS/HTML/en/codecs.html! ========================================================================== Audio: no sound Video: no video Exiting... (End of file) My /etc/mplayer/codecs.conf contains the following lines: audiocodec racook info "RealAudio COOK" status working format 0x6B6F6F63 ; "cook" driver realaud dll "cook.so.6.0" audiocodec racookwin info "Win32 RealAudio COOK" status working format 0x6B6F6F63 ; "cook" driver realaud dll "cook3260.dll" audiocodec racookmac info "Mac OS X RealAudio COOK" status working format 0x6B6F6F63 ; "cook" driver realaud dll "cook.shlb" The cook.so.6.0 file exists on my system (/usr/lib/win32/cook.so.6.0: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), stripped) but not the other two. What do I have to do to get mplayer to find and use this codec?! (It used to work and mysteriously stopped a few weeks ago.)
