-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi there,
I have a Debian unstable system with kernel 2.6.8.1 and udev running and until about 2 weeks ago everything was fine. Then, after running 'apt-get upgrade' one day, I was no longer able to login the the box anymore. Within X I can not open any terminals and I can not login to the box using ssh. All I get in /var/log/auth.log are these messages: sshd: Accepted publickey for <user> from ... sshd: (pam_unix) session opened for user <user> by (uid=0) sshd: error: openpty: No such file or directory sshd: error: session_pty_req: session 0 alloc failed Somehow the directory /dev/pts seems to be missing but I am not sure when udev actually is supposed to create this directory. There is an entry in /etc/udev/links.conf though. What could be wrong with udev? Any hints or ideas where to look would be very welcome!
