Hi all, I have played with the latest discs of Knoppix and MEPIS, and they both install the the HD well enough, but I would like a regular Debian system. I have all 7 Woody discs (not the last release (not the latest stable 3.0r2 version, but the plain 3.0).
I am anxious (like everyone) for the full Sarge to land, but I am looking for advice on what to do for now. I CAN successfully install the Woody with the old installer. It is timely and I have to choose carefully as I only have a 4 GB drive, but I am a Linux novice and I was able to instally this 2-3x before without issues. I cannot tell from any searching if the new "installer" is included on those weekly sarge snapshot ISO images. If not, the only other cd images I see for download are net-install ones, which won't work for me. I am wondering what I should do while I wait for the official Sarge announcement. Should I: a) Download the unofficial Sarge anyway, since people run Sid without issues? b) Download the installer ISO and see if it will use my other Woody discs to complete install (will this work?) c) Just settle with MEPIS/Knoppix flavor for now d) Any other suggestions or advice? Please also note that this is a networkless box, so I won't be connected to the web any time soon with it - all installation and package updating will have to be via disc. Thanks for your help, and sorry if this info is out there and I missed it. I PROMISE I have looked at a lot of stuff, but didn't see exactly what I needed. :-D Scott -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
