Sorry if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find a reference...:

Using stable/woody I created a few accounts on a server which could loginto ftp-sessions to their chrooted homes, but which couldn't login through ssh, as I exchanged their loginshell to a small script /usr/sbin/faillogin.
This worked very nice until I dist-upgraded to testing/sarge.
Since the update the users seem to need a working and proper shell-login-account to login to vsftp? Or have I only missed something?
Any advice?

Thanks in advance! :-)

thorsten
