Huh? Are you serious? I'm surprised at this because:
1. I haven't heard anything about Coda saying this. Certainly if they
were indicating they'd be porting Finale to Linux, you'd expect a lot
of discussion about it on linux-audio-user; there's been none. The last
I read on this subject was from July 8, when one regular there wrote:
} I had a meeting with John Paulson (President and founder of Finale) the
} other day and spoke with him regarding the possibility of producing a Linux
} version of Finale now that they have produced an OSX version. He mentioned
} that they had looked at it but decided not to develop a version at this
} time.
2. noteedit released version 2.7.0 on July 23; like all noteedit
releases, it was announced on linux-audio-users and linux-audio-announce.
Joerg Anders hasn't posted anything since then (and in particular, no
announcement that noteedit is dying upstream).
3. There hasn't been any discussion on linux-audio-users of noteedit
dying upstream. (and this must have happened very recently, or there
would have been)
The posts that are linked-to on his page regarding said Finale port are
simply discussion part of the discussion from which the above quote was
taken, in which various people mentioned that Finale on Linux would be
a good thing, others replied that noteedit and Rosegarden4 are nice, and
others replied that they're not sufficient for what they need to do.
Various people said they'd like to see a Linux port of Finale, and were
planning to write Coda to show interest; but there was never a mention
that they were doing it.
I wonder what's going on here.

I agree with all of the above. I use Rosegarden4 instead of noteedit;
it works for me, its MIDI features are more powerful (good for
composition), it's easier to figure out without running to docs, etc.
But I'm sad to see noteedit go.
You might wanna mention this on linux-audio-users. I say this because
there are a lot of AGNULA/Demudi people out there who aren't subscribed
to debian-user and who might care about this, have suggestions, be willing
to jump in as maintainer, or make 3rd party .debs available.

You might wanna mention this on linux-audio-users. I say this because
