one thing, is the linux kernel(at least until the very recent 2.5.xx revisions) is limited to 2TB of storage. I am not certain if it is 2TB total or 2TB volumes(I think its 2TB volumes), but the system will most likely not be able to take advantage of a 4-5TB volume if you have such a thing. Now if you split it up it should work. I first read about it here I believe: http://www.uwsg.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0205.1/0423.html You also probably have to use the 2.4.x kernel due to its better handling of large files and large(r) address space.
