Yep. 2 trees checked out to one local machine sitting in front of you ;-) One from local CVS on which you work. The other tree where remote cvs up/ci are done. I was keeping local CVS just as easy back up with revert capability. Never botherd to TAG. So synching tags and other features was never used for local one. If you have specific points you want to tag in main tree, keep multiple copy of checked out tree in the local machine and commit later in the order. Make it simple. > Or do you talk about the tree in the remote cvs archive tree? > Could I use rsync (as long as I am the only developer)? Maybe if you are careful but dangerous and beat the purpose. Surversion is supposed to do these local and remote tree merge better but I never used it. > Do sourceforge and/or savannah allow rsync'ing to the repository? Norton commander like utility. It reduce typing of filename. Just do this and find out :-) # apt-get install mc # mc -- ~\^o^/~~~ ~\^.^/~~~ ~\^*^/~~~ ~\^_^/~~~ ~\^+^/~~~ ~\^:^/~~~ ~\^v^/~~~ +++++ Osamu Aoki <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cupertino CA USA, GPG-key: A8061F32 .''`.
