I read the mailing list via the gmane mailing list to newsgroup gateway. I'm only doing this since a week or two, but everything seems to work fine. Just point your newsclient to news.gmane.org and subscribe to gmane.linux.debian.user. All info you need is at http://www.gmane.org.

hi, the issue is: SOME email get throught. NO problem using news reader. CONCLUSION: NOT an internet connection problem either way. NO limit of http connection. some limit on smtp connections due to spam

Someone suggested the web interface.
I suggested gmane because it offers more or less the same functionality as the mailing list (I like newsgroups better than mailing lists even, but that's just me I suppose).
