That way the chances are that one of them will always work properly. I think there are many cases of badly written pages, only tested to the microsoft "standard" but these are usually visble with minor errors. A lot can be accomplished by adjusting browser settings in Preferences (on my Firefox it's at the bottom of the Edit menu on the toolbar) where you can check if java is activated, allow certain popups, etc. Could it be that there is a connection problem?
