The only *potential* problem I could see with lending is the concept of whether or not requiring the return of the media and its contents would be a violation of the GPL, but the question would then turn on whether the GPL extends to the media, and by my understanding, given the permission to charge for the costs of the media, distribution and marketing, etc., it does not. My understanding of the BSD and Artistic licenses is that it should be okay under those as well. Essentially, if it isn't a violation of a LUG to have copies available to be borrowed for home installation and copy-burning, it would be no problem for a public library to do the same. -- Mark L.
