Hi everyone
I'm trying to install Woody (my first Debian installation) on a HP Netserver LC 2000. The problem relates to SCSI and RAID detection. When using the boot "compact" option it detects the SCSI controller (a Symbios 53C896 according to POST), but not the RAID (a HP NetRAID adapter 1Si according to POST). When booting with the default configuration, setup doesn't detect either the SCSI controller or the RAID controller.
Mandrake 10.0 detects both the RAID and SCSI controllers successfully. Details of the hardware (from Mandrake) follows:
# cat pci | grep -A 7 "Bus 2, device 6" Bus 2, device 6, function 0: SCSI storage controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic 53c896 (rev 6). IRQ 24. Master Capable. Latency=72. Min Gnt=17.Max Lat=64. I have used Google extensively to try to find an answer, but to no avail.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Best regards Ben
