I'd like to generate a SSL certificate for apache-ssl and have tried using the tool 'ssl-certificate'. I have invoked it as 'ssl-certificate --force --days 1000', and it appears to generate a valid certificate. However, when I restart apache and try to browse the site (with both Firefox and Galeon), I am told that my certificate contains the same serial number as another generated by the certificate authority; the page will not load and I am urged to get a certificate with a unique serial number.
I haven't been able to find much documentation on 'ssl-certificate'; is there an option that I've missed?
