Well, I fixed this same error with a remove and purge. Then I re-installed... still got the same error. I renamed the directory where the Virus DB is to something else. (.old) Then did a remove and purge and then install. All was well. To test this, I renamed the good dir to something else (.new) and renamed .old and got the same errors.
