Yes. That will be fine. But why the -386 image? The DL140 is a P4, right? So you would want the -686 image to get the kernel tuned for your machine. Put it on a CD or floppy and use 'dpkg -i' to install it. Then make sure to add 'tg3' to /etc/modules. echo tg3 >> /etc/modules > Do I need anything else? You will need the initrd-tools update as well. Make sure you get both as stated in the other message. I think that is all. http://ftp.dk.debian.org/debian/pool/main/i/initrd-tools/initrd-tools_0.1.32woody.5_all.deb http://ftp.dk.debian.org/debian/pool/main/k/kernel-image-2.4.26-i386/kernel-image-2.4.26-2-686_2.4.26-1woody.1_i386.deb Here are the dependencies you need to have satisfied. dpkg --info kernel-image-2.4.26-2-686_2.4.26-1woody.1_i386.deb | grep Depends: Depends: initrd-tools (>= 0.1.32woody.5), fileutils (>= 4.0), modutils (>= 2.3.12) Bob
