Most is said already, but what the heck...

If you're going to use any mathematics at all, start using LaTeX and
make a laugh of everyone who doesn't by simply comparing your printout
to theirs.

After graduating as a physicist a year ago, I never stopped using LaTeX.
In fact, it's the only thing I use, together with vim. Right now, I'm
finishing my studies to become a teacher and all assignments I've
finished are done in LaTeX: easy to use, great-looking, etc. You don't
have to spend much time making a good layout, or deciding what fonts to
use or things like that.

The critics say: the layout is boring!

If you agree, read the first chapter of the 'Not so short introduction'
and you'll understand why that is not a drawback.
