If you just install the debian kernel-image and kernel-headers with apt-get, dselect, or aptitude then what I sent should work. The way I posted was when your using the stock Debian Kernel-source and Kernel-headers for your system. Otherwise your going to have to make sure that you compiled everything into the kernel/Custom that you built. Maybe this will help. What I have installed. My system is dual processor so uses SMP. kernel-image-2.6-686-smp --> installed by dependency kernel-image-2.6.5-1-686-smp kernel-headers-2.6.5-1 --> installed by dependency kernel-headers-2.6.5-1-686-smp In /lib/modules there is a directory called: 2.6.5-1-686-smp. This will match the kernel-image installed. In /lib/modules/2.6.5-1-686-smp there is a sym link: build -> /usr/src/kernel-headers-2.6.5-1-686-smp /usr/src/kernel-headers-2.6.5-1-686-smp will match the kernel-source package you installed. I have used this way to install the nvidia drivers for every kernel I've installed that was stock Debian. If you make your own kernel the Debian way, you don't have to install kernel-headers. It should compile as long as you still have the kernel-source in /usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.5 and sym link it with /usr/src/linux. AND, IF you have included everything you need in the kernel you built. -- "Is it NOUVELLE CUISINE when 3 olives are struggling with a scallop in a plate of SAUCE MORNAY?" --Zippy the Pinhead -- B. L.
