Hello, I am having exactly the same problem with exim. The postmaster account receives the following errors by email, daily.
failed to open DB file /var/spool/exim/db/retry: File exists failed to open DB file /var/spool/exim/db/wait-remote_smtp: File exists I have tried deleting the databases so that exim rebuilds them. The /etc/cron.daily/exim cron script runs without error if run from the command line.
