I tried installing the xfree86-driver-synaptics (up to a spelling mistake here) for unstable. I then added Load "synaptics" to XF86Config-4 as the docs say. When trying to start X I then get a message that the synaptics driver was not found. I checked and its in the right place with the right permissions.
