Hi, i installed shorewall and it writes a lot of messages to the console. I tried to edit syslog.conf and then running /etc/init.d/sysklogd restart to remove all the clutter that goes to the console, but i failed miserably.
What i would want to do, is to log the messages that now appear on the console i'm working on to say /dev/tty6. This should always be the case and when i'm logged in on say /dev/tty4, it shouldn't log to this console. I have even tried to comment the "*.emerg *" and the last 2 blocks of code ( *1* and *2* ) but the kernel messages taht the shorewall firewall generates where still logged to my console. How can i solve this? Also, i'm not sure what an xconsole is?
