Hi all I have been using snort for months, but configurating the new release 2.1.1.1-1 (with Sage) gave the folowwing error in my /var/log/daemon file : FATAL ERROR unknown preprocessor " ]^\^H_decode"
after lot of tests, I ended to uninstall all the packages (snort, snort-common, snort-rules-default) all 2.1.1.1-1 relaeses As /etc/snort.conf was fairely old (Rel. 1.7) I removed the /etc/snort directory ( apt-get remove let that untouched).. As the new installation asked for a non existing snort.conf file, I had to recover it from another computer, ... and I went back to the initial situation .. no known bug in (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=202824&archive=yes) for this release ..
