Almost always you can successfully unsubscribe yourself using the interface at www.debian.org. Point you browser at www.debian.org then look on the lower left under Support for mailing lists, click mailinglsts. Under the Subscription/Unsubscription paragraph you will find a link to these web pages for subscribing or unsubscribing. click the maling lists you want off of then give it the email address where you get the list or lists, and submit.
