oh hello! some goof up by me here. when i tried to send mail to myself it worked!

when i try sending mail to remote addresses, it freezes with an error. here is the error file:

here is for reference again, portion of my exim.conf file.

this is similar to shyamal's conf file except that i have ip address where he has a name.

Did you chose smarthost or not? If you picked smarthost, what is your
smarthost?

yes. i did choose smarthost - although i do not know what does 'smarthost' mean and what is smart about this host.

Where does your nt server send it's mail to? Does it use SMTP?

well, nt server is lan server and it has some merak mail installed on it for serving mail.

however, given a choice, i will like *not* to use this for my outgoing mails.
