This has already happened. Please bugview gnupg. #61772: gnupg: should have a way to update keys from a keyserver As of right now, this issue has been known for at least 2 years, 197 days; mad props to Peter Palfrader for being the first to notice this. Oddly, the Debian maintainer has yet to move it upstream. -- Baloo
