Thanks. I already wrote to debian-laptop too. I also used /etc/init.d/pcmcia and tried booting with the card in. Everything to no avail. I didn't try the /etc/init.d/networking script. How would I do that, and is there hope that this could have success, given that /etc/init.d/pcmcia does not?
