Thanks Bruce, please see my response to Russell...there is some kind of misunderstanding (no doubt in my head) about the meaning of link and whether a link is to or from, etc. What I described actually worked, so I need to figure out how to say it so everyone will understand.

I would not mesh the "generic" instructions with Debian instructions, though.
