This late reply is due to the scsi bus eventually deciding it had to continually reset, and I had to power-off uncleanly. Upon powerup, 13/14 filesystems did not mount - including root. Sigh. Spent the last few days installing a few things onto my old computer trying to get functional "enough" while I try to recover the disk contents. Review time on how I had those packages configured. (I have unplugged the possible scsi culprit for now, but will have to replug it to try to do the restores.) > PS: I'm CCing you because I'm not sure if this message will show up in > the list. So far so good. I got it twice. (I don't mind, in the circumstances.)
