Hi, I'm doing a new install of current stable on an i386 with a Turtle beach Santa Cruz sound card. I use bf24 installation program because, apparently I need the cs46xx driver in kernel version 2.4 to run this card.
Installation seems to go fine, the cs46xx driver installs successfully, the machine reboots and cdtool works. Unfortunately the signal is only for headphones; it is unchanged even after the machine has been halted. Then, after the machine has been rebooted, the driver doesn't load anymore. I get this from dmesg: PCI: Found IRQ 5 for device 00:09.0 PCI: Sharing IRQ 5 with 00:04.2 Crystal 4280/46xx + AC97 Audio, version 1.28.32, 10:28:40 Apr 14 2002 cs46xx: Card found at 0xde800000 and 0xde000000, IRQ 5 cs46xx: Voyetra (5053:3357) at 0xde800000/0xde000000, IRQ 5 cs46xx: AC'97 write problem, reg = 0x0, val = 0x0 cs46xx: AC'97 read problem (ACCTL_DCV), reg = 0x0 returning 0xffff ac97_codec: Primary ac97 codec not present cs46xx: cs_ac97_init() failure cs46xx: cs46xx_probe()- cs_hardware_init() failed, retried 5 times. cs46xx: probe()- no device allocated cs46xx: Unable to detect valid cs46xx device Is the shared IRQ a problem? Should I recompile the kernel with cs46xx as a module? I would be very appreciative of any help from the list. Mark -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
