I've upgraded potato to woody on five computers (two of them were complete reinstalls) and on all of them KDE dies a slow death. I notice the problem mostly with Konqueror. For example, after using KDE and Konqueror for some time (1-20 minutes) I'll click on a Konqueror menu, the menu will appear, Konqueror will freeze and the menu will follow me around from desktop to desktop. The other instances of Konqueror will freeze (or not) and I will perhaps no longer be able to start applications from the panel. I sometimes (but not always) can try to start new instances of Konqueror which don't appear but create" konqueror -session --silent" lines in my "ps -ef" output. Last time I was trying to set properties for a panel task and the properties dialog froze, but Konqueror still worked. One time I couldn't start Kate from the menu or command line. Logging in and logging out fixes the problem.
Since the web is not awash in reports of this (I've looked at debian.org, kde.org, etc.) I'm thinking it must be something I am doing. Reinstalling KDE and removing the ~/.kde directory did not help, so I'm baffled. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please cc [EMAIL PROTECTED] as I am not subscribed to this list.
