The current stable is woody or 3.0. 2.1 is slink. For slink your sources.list should have lines in it like: deb http://archive.debian.org/debian-archive/ slink contrib main non-free You should consider upgrading to potato/debian 2.2 and then again to woody. To upgrade to potato, I believe your sources.list should have: deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian potato main contrib non-free > > However when i run Update, i get the following > > Get ftp://ftp.debian.org stable/contrib Package > Get ftp://ftp.debian.org stable/main Package > Get ftp://ftp.debian.org stable/non-free Package > Fetched 1891k in 3s (548k/s) > Updating package file cache > E: Line 28330 in package file > /var/state/apt/lists/ftp.debian.org_debian_dists_stable_main_binary-i386_Packages is >too long.(2) > (same message repeated) > update avaialble list script returned error exit status 100 > Press RETURN to continue > > When i look at line 28330 in the Package file > it shows the Depends: line in the package: evolution > That line is 1058 bytes long which i geuss is too long > > > If i try to run Install , i get the following > E: The cache file /var/cache/apt/srcpkgcache.bin is corrupted > E: You should probable re-run apt-get update > > Is there anything i can do about this?? > Thanks in advance. > > > -- > To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > with a subject of "unsubscribe".
