I installed the modutils from unstable and modconf from testing. Is the likelihood that modutils from unstable should be okay for a testing distribution? The kernel is based on the 2.2compact series from woody.
On a different testing box, I am actually building gcc-3.2 from the debian source. Thanks for your input.
