hi, I've tried to install debian wheezy s390x on hercules, but I can't boot it.
Please tell me correct procedure to do so. My steps are: 1. Basically, I follow the instruction of this page: http://www.josefsipek.net/docs/s390-linux/hercules-s390.html * I use daily d-i image (http://d-i.debian.org/daily-images/s390x/daily/generic/) and choose expert mode to get shell prompt. 2. installer fails to find proper kernel. so I've dropped to shell prompt, and do: # /target/usr/sbin/chroot /target /bin/bash # apt-get install linux-image-s390x # exit 3. continue without bootloader (There is not another option...) 4. after rebooting, I command "ipl 120" and get error: > HHCCP048I 0120:CCW=03000000 00000001=>00060000 0000000F 03000000 00000001 > ................ > HHCCP075I 0120:Stat=0E00 Count=0001 > HHCCP076I 0120:Sense=80000000 00000002 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 > HHCCP077I 0120:Sense=CMDREJ > HHCCP029E z/Arch mode IPL failed: CSW status=0E00 > Sense=80000000 00000002 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 > 00000080 00000000 I guess that I have to edit s390.cnf to specify device correctly, but how? (after passing this, I will be blocked by bootloader issue...) regards, -- KURASHIKI Satoru -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
